Terms of Reference To facilitate the implementation of food safety, environmental protection, and public health services in the district so as to meet the needs and expectations of the people in the district:

Food, Environment and Hygiene Committee
To facilitate the implementation of food safety, environmental protection, and public health services in the district so as to meet the needs and expectations of the people in the district:
# Examples include public toilets, wet markets, streets, bazaars, cooked food markets, hawkers, restaurants and bars, cemeteries and crematoria and columbaria etc..
- to be consulted by the Government on affairs concerning food safety, improvement of cityscape, living environment, ecological conservation and hygiene etc. in the district;
- to be consulted by the Government on affairs concerning the food, environment and hygiene facilities# and environmental sanitary and pest control services (including supply, quality and management, etc.) of the district;
- to assist the Government to publicise and promote projects and activities related to food safety, environmental protection, energy conservation and carbon emission reduction, public health, pest control, healthy city, and ecological conservation in the district;
- to collect the views of the people in the district for district matters related to food, environment and hygiene as requested by the Chairman of the District Council, and to submit to the Government a summary of the views collected and the suggested corresponding measures;
- to provide steer for its working group(s) and to endorse conclusions made by the concerned working group(s); and
- to report the work of the committee regularly to the District Council and to undertake assignments as commissioned by the Chairman of the District Council
