Western Wholesale Food Market Flea Market cum Carnival 2017
- 7-8 January 2017 (Saturday & Sunday) 11am – 5pm
- Open space outside 1/F, Western Wholesale Food Market, 8 Fung Mat Road, Sai Ying Pun
- To complement the implementation of the Signature Project Scheme in Central and Western District, the Working Group on the Central & Western District Harbourfront under the Central and Western District Council organised the Western Wholesale Food Market Flea Market cum Carnival 2017 on 7-8 January 2017 to let the public participate directly in the revitalisation project and, at the same time, enjoy the beautiful harbourfront. Over 30 operators of the Western Wholesale Food Market, other traders and social welfare organisations participated in this two-day event with a total of 62 booths being set up to sell vegetables, fruits, seafoods, egg products and other specialty products. The organiser also arranged various spectacular programmes, included milk tea brewing demonstration by the milk-tea master, cooking demonstration by Towngas and handicraft classes, etc. In addition, play equipment was also provided in the venue for children to play together.

Festive Lantern Decoration in Central & Western District (Second Stage (Lunar New Year and Lantern Festival))

- In celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival, Chinese New Year and Lantern Festival, the Central & Western District Council and Central & Western District Office are displaying giant paper lanterns in Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park, Belcher Bay Park and Hollywood Road Park to liven up the festive ambiance and promote the traditional craftmanship of paper lanterns.

- Elderly Service Units in the Central and Western District
- The Central and Western District Council members are invited to visit the elderly service units in the Central and Western district to listen to the elders' opinions and to strengthen the linkage between the local elderly service units and the District Council.

“Central and Western District Kids’ Paradise” in Celebration of the 68th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China

- The Central and Western District Kids' Paradise in Celebration of the 68th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China was co-organised by the Central and Western District Council and over 20 local organisations. This year, a demonstration of the imitations of the historic street advertisements in Central and Western District was displayed to introduce the history of these advertisements so as to reflect the livelihood of the people at that time. The carnival also included creative arts workshops for children, parent-child reading workshops, variety shows as well as game and craft booths.

Central and Western District Community Planting Day 2017

- The Working Group on Environmental Improvement, Greening and Beautification Works in C&W District of Central and Western District Council, Central and Western District Office and Leisure and Cultural Services Department co-organized the event ‘Central and Western District Community Planting Day 2017’. All participants gained joyful planting experience and knowledge about tree caring.

Outdoor Educational Programme 2017

- Outdoor Educational Programme 2017 organised by the Working Group on Central & Western District Council Affairs was held on 4, 5, 6, 8 & 11 December 2017 and 31 January 2018, in which Primary 2 students from 12 schools in the District participated. The Programme aims to provide a learning experience which develops students’ knowledge on natural resources and increases their awareness on environmental protection.

2017/2018 Fall/winter Sheung Wan Promenade
- 10 December 2017 to 11 February 2018 (every Sunday) from 11:30am to 5:30pm
- Sheung Wan Cultural Square, Area around Morrison Street and Wing Lok Street
- "Sheung Wan Promenade”has been held for 17 years since December 2001 and has been well received by locals and tourists. The event features cultural and variety performances, thematic carnivals as well as stalls selling a variety of hand-made arts and crafts. It promotes the features and economy of the local community and attracts more people to visit Sheung Wan district.
